Now this is how to do interactive theatre. 'You Me Bum Bum Train' doesn't just play around with the fourth wall, it smashes it to pieces and invites us to crawl right through. It's a bruising and nerve-wracking experience, as we're plunged into a maze of worlds unknown but it is also exhilarating and, most importantly, hugely empowering.

Each audience member travels alone in this madcap journey and it's certainly a little scary at first. It doesn't help that we're asked to sign a waiver which rids the company of any responsibility should we drop down dead from shock. As we line up in a bleak waiting room, with strange sounds wafting in from mysterious locations, nerves jangle wildly.

And then we're off; sliding, slithering and sprinting through a dazzling landscape of crazy scenarios. What's extraordinary here is how quickly one adapts. Although the land literally slides beneath your feet, you'll find yourself growing in confidence. As the actors look to you for guidance and authority, you instinctively provide it. You find yourself drawing on strengths and skills you never knew you had.

Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd's extraordinary adventure is not just a thrilling theatrical roller coaster ride. It is a profound life lesson. I left the show incredibly excited about both theatre's potential and my own. An unforgettable experience, which confirms just how dizzyingly powerful theatre can be – and how exceptional we all might be, if only given the chance.
